As dej said, it's common for founders to give way to more qualified board members. Garry Cass, while being creative and the originator of a lot of what Nanollose is, doesn't really bring much to the party. The Nanollose website provides the following initial description of Garry:
Perth based, Mr Cass has been a key creative collaborator with numerous international arts and sciences projects including Fermented Fashion, which is one of the first dresses in the world made from wine and beer. Mr Cass has a philosophy that “creativity is as important as literacy and numeracy.”
Board members need to bring experience, expertise, and connections that are going to help the company achieve it's goals. I was simply suggesting that Gary didn't possess these characteristics.
