When contemplating the behind the scenes machinations resulting in this sad parting of ways with two directors, I recall an awkward interview last year featuring both CE and NAB side by side on chairs. NAB straightaway launched off with the "koolaid" BS and an unmistakable, unstoppable grimace of disgust briefly crossed CE'a face until he fought it back into its place.

CE used to be an absolutely shocking presenter, as any long termed would recall. All the wink wink crap, analogies etc. He has become half decent at public speaking lately and perhaps felt he could no longer bear to hear the word "koolaid" used in a HCH presentation ever again.
