ALK had it wrong with Dubbo big time and the only reason why ASM SP went up so far was on the back of the technology of the processing plant and the fantasy that China will be cut out of the supply chain within a week or two after US said something about being independent of China regarding rare earths.

NMPP is very different as the commodities in play have different dynamics - especially the gold component. Also, the players who mine copper and gold at such scales can open doors (pockets) of all our politicians.

Also, the processing tech for gold and copper is lot less damaging to the environment. But the water part is risk which ALK and their JV partner (I think there will be JV) will have to address.
