The reason the name isn't mentioned is about marketing and media exposure. With their name not mentioned it doesn't come up in any searches and avoids having their name attached to products or companies where it has no control of how their name is used by third parties. If OBJ had said it was XYZ company, then in the future the media can say "It was announced XYZ company are involved with.. ". With their name not mentioned it makes it difficult to do this. Also if media contact XYZ company today, they can say that they have no comment. As a result, there is no story.

Seems weird to me that you would withhold your company name purely so that there can me no media announcement connecting client A name and OBJ. Nothing stops media from speculating on this anyway. In my experience it's usually competitive reasons that names are not announced.
