It might be obvious, but the phrase "over a longer time frame" applies to the "evaluation", not to the "product development". So hopefully we can interpret that as "tweaking the gel" to reduce irritation, selecting the best guard designs from those being tabled (although participants were very happy with them already), and then performing a trial for an extended period to see what the long term benefits are (perhaps 6 months?).

I caught a lot of flak from fellow poster by suggesting that bodyguard could be 3 years from launch. Hopefully we can see how that is much more likely. Professor Wright's comment can't be ignored, and it is inconceivable to me that P&G would launch a new billion dollar brand for product(s) meant to be used daily for many years based on the results of a two week study, even if the results were perfect.
