It's actually not "speculative" in the usual meaning of that term. There is clearly a very large series of continuous or semi-continuous copper deposits at Storm and enough evidence to say that Somerset Island hosts either a big or very big copper province or copper belt. The evidence of something pretty sizeable is scattered across an area that's about 120 kms long. Surface ore may not prove a lot by itself, but it is also rare that these surface expressions don't indicate large structures below, although the economics will depend on the scale, grade and to some extent the shape of the deposit. It could be there but only marginally economic at that location. In this case it turns out that the location is not the handicap one would expect.
Greater Storm is very like the Kalahari copper belt where Cupric Canyon, Sandfire and Cobre have tenements and now mines in the case of the first two. As with the Kalahari, it was only when modern geo-physics was applied by MOD Resources funded by Metal Tiger and a local raising that the signature of the copper was clearly seen at depth. As with the Kalahari there was also the use of the more mobile zinc as a pathfinder for sedimentary copper. Sa
Cupric Canyon was developed by former senior executives at Phelps Dodge. In this case we see former senior geologists and minerals financiers on the Board which which should give confidence. Dave O'Neil is no doubt a pretty good geologist, but shareholders shouldn't ignore the experience of Daniel Lougher, the former head of Western Areas with his 40 years of experience and for that matter Tom Peregoodoff and Michael Anderson. Peregoodoff, was Vice President Early Stage Exploration at BHP and so would have seen literally hundreds of early stage project ideas cross his desk. If one of these was Storm he may have been been quietly delighted that the projects committee turned it down.
The other one to look at is Metal Bank which is about to explore sedimentary deposits in Jordan, the source of much of the Roman copper
