We can boil our differences down to your investment philosophy is, "the trend is your friend" my investment philosophy is, "back what you believe is fundamentally correct and the market will one day follow".

I think your tactic is better in many respects, but I have never been successful in managing my exit strategy when I am investing in something that may be a bit of a bubble. That said I know it can take decades for a market to follow what you think is imminent and inevitable.

that said my best returns have always come from sitting and waiting for the big unbelievable runs. I have done well in this regard though have also thrown good winnings away outside of the market.
