Apparently it is pretty accurate but I have heard that its big/bulky/cumbersome and expensive and some OH&S hoops to jump through with it being 100x more powerful than a hospital x-ray machine, so not exactly a portable solution for out at the drill rig. I understand that sample prep is still required and the capital costs usually mean that the sample has to be transported to a lab somewhere so still has the transport and logistics and sample prep/labour cost issues that traditional assays have. If I was setting up a brand new lab at a remote mines site then I would strongly consider it, or if the old lab was about to fall apart.
I must admit I haven't been keeping up to date on it, but my last impressions were that they were making progress. What are your thoughts on it?
