I think you've pulled a rabbit out of a hat within a terrible investment environment.

But normally such raises are done against a background of published strategy or some sort of incentive to invest. This "raise" just has the promise of such (future) strategy.

So in effect it gives people the time to make their minds up whether to invest or not based on the "bonus" of you as the new CEO - congratulations.

But the shareholding will dilute so I assume it's a question of how much residual goodwill the existing shareholders have towards the company, as this is in effect a cash raise devoid of supporting (PR'd) strategy.

And a few months down the track the SP will determine the health and appearance of that rabbit.
