That's only true if you can win that buck on every call. In reality you need the big gainers to offset all the losers. Winning a buck doesn't cut it. There's a reason Warren buffet is so successful, he's held his winning positions for many years and even decades, through all the ups and the downs. If he sold every time he made a buck he would be a regular nobody. Picking stocks is one thing, knowing how to hold them is another much more difficult thing to do (for reasons I don't understand)
