The entire ASX is being hammered today, metals miners and gold stocks are no exception. The cause is most likely this:
Banks, hedge funds, superfunds, etc are having to liquidate alot of good assets to remain (temporarily in some cases) solvent themselves. This is going to be particularly pronounced in the USA, although Australian banks will also be hit hard. Australian real-estate is now heading for a crash. Gold and solvent profitable metal mining shares will more than recover from this latest financial crises.
