Yes it is alarming. As a lefty at heart i am alarmed at how the mainstream has swung so violently left in the past few years. i watched the populism in america since 2016 and thought that we in australia would never let it happen here and yet here we are with extremely populist lefty rhetoric and policy that will fail to deliver on the actions that they/we want... its sickening.
FYI, i guess im now a righty for the simple fact that my values remain unchanged and the mainstream has swung so hard left.
