I've been to Mudgee, I have seen the flyers and spoken to members of the Lue action group. Honestly the two biggest issues they have is around the frankly enormous tailings dam, which if it broke would poison all the local creeks and waterways and the quantity of lead. The lead quantity I think is bogus they are just using it to scare people. The silver is where the real value is but obiously the mine has more tonnes of lead than silver. Thats why silver is paid in ounces....

But the tailings dam is something even myself, an investor of a few years is a bit concerned about. Even it it cost more SVL could get most of the community on side if they committed to extra funding for a backup and additional controls around the tailings. Cause if that thing fails it would make national news as those creeks feed into every winery in the town.
