As I understand it each fund has their own broker who handles these direct investments on behalf of their members who only have a beneficial interest in the shares which are held by the superannuation fund in trust.
If you swap to another fund they won't just transfer the shares from one entity to the next.
You have to liquidate them into money which you then reallocate as you see fit.
So, "if" a redomicile was to occur at some time, whilst the share price is still in the toilet, many may be forced to sell at unfavourable terms.
This is the situation as I understand it, but I have only researched this with my particular fund.
Other funds may vary in how they will handle this situation so I suggest each individual do their own research on the matter.
Self Managed Super Funds are less likely to be impacted I believe, as they will generally hold the shares directly.
