Mineralised will probably come up with something from his meeting.
In the meantime here is an explanation of why I made comments about the capacity of scout drilling rigs.
The new guidelines for scout drilling that I have seen are in this document - August 2018
Excerpt:By means of Ministerial Agreement No. 2018-0034, signed by acting Minister ofMines Carlos Pérez on June 28th, 2018 and published in Official Gazette No. 315,of August 29th, 2018, the scout drilling in the mining concessions that are in theinitial exploration phase is now allowed.
The test or recognition boreholes "(...) are exploratory wells drilled with a variety ofinclinations and dimensions that belong to the initial exploration period, carried out withportable or aerial transportable equipment on platforms with a maximum length of 10meters per side, with the installation of a drilling water recirculation system and use ofbiodegradable drilling additives. "
This Agreement allows the drilling of test or recognition boreholes in a maximumof forty (40) platforms for each mining concession. Exceptionally, in thoseconcessions that intercept partially or totally with legally declared areas of veryhigh fragility ecosystem by the Ministry of Environment, the scout drilling willbe allowed for a maximum of twenty (20) platforms for each mining concession.
The portable aspect is open to interpretation and budgetary constraints. I took it to mean (for this program at Bramaderos) only rigs that could be broken down into components that could be "person" handled could be used. This could limit rig size and hence the 500m depth capacity estimate.
Aerial transport = helicopter support which may be beyond the logistic needs and budget for STM at the moment.
======================
I have been trying, without much success, to locate the historical Curiplaya/Bramaderos drill collars on google earth. Either they have been well rehabilitated or had very low environmental impact to the point where nothing is obvious at the resolution available. There doesn't even seem to be tracks to sites. I imagine this would be the ideal under the new regulations though a 10x10m pad would be fairly obvious.
