Not at all surprised by the market reaction, because the expectation was "revenue" and "subscribers" and we got "MOU " and "LOI".
NEGATIVE: Obviously TV2U poorly negotiated the contract with CCS TV (or poor due diligence) to discover after going live that they don't have licensing rights for OTT (or maybe not even licensing to a 3rd party i.e. TV2U). So we jump wagon and hop on SLIM PACK although the due diligence has NOT been carried out with them yet and we have no real understanding of their own licensing (3 month to figure it out?). Why would it be different this time?
NEGATIVE: The change of content provider was to be expected as
@The outvestor rightly called it yesterday, I expected however this to take a bit longer and not before TV2U built a strong customer base allowing it to start negotiating its own content contracts, not "acquire" some unknown entity ("
newly formed SLIM PACK" ?). If I want to be cynical about it, I'd say Mr Suzuki found a tourist and sold him (or arm wrestled him) a genuine local artifact made in Taiwan.
NEGATIVE: As
@Skizo said, "acquire" it how and with what money? Was it that cheap?
NEGATIVE: CCS TV ceases to be the supplier of premium content. So, instead of negotiating an orderly transfer, TV2U disrupts the service for its paying customers for 10 day (at least!). Not a good experience if you just subscribed.
NON EVENT: OTT seminar in Sao Paolo. Old news!
POSITIVE (?): MOU with Wirelink. Kind of expected new "contracts" not "MOUs". But the potential is there if TV2U can manage to get additional subscribers. The thing is Wirelink provides broadband to homes and has no experience in mobile telephony. So are they another hosting site like SOL Telecom? Not really sure how this one will play out.
NEGATIVE: Typical poor announcement (almost a trademark now) by TV2U with its share or errors, typos, and superfluous wording. "I have an great idea that I'll share with you but I haven't really seriously thought about it yet" kind of announcement. These guys should seriously work on their communication and understand that for a listed company
words matter. I guess they had to wait for the Chairman to come back because they had no idea he just "bought" them a new company!
Most comments here (can't quote them all) reflect that feeling of "deja vu" and the market is gone into a not so surprising negative mode.
Hoping for some serious corrective action, soon!
