Actually he has a very clear idea. He is going on what has actually happened. You are speculating on what might have happened. Who is the closest to having "any idea".

None of which is to suggest your perspective is not relevant. Of course it is. Most of us long-term holders generally accept (now, if not earlier) that some value has gone begging here. But hey its also nice to take the occasional minor win.
