@ANTON707
Lithium is relatively abundant on earth and certainly more so than gold, but don't get fooled into thinking it is easy to find commercial quantities. The vast bulk of lithium on earth, 230 billion tonnes, is in the oceans, and no one is conceding that will be accessible in our lifetimes. And it does not naturally occur in elemental form due to its high reactivity. It was historically stockpiled in the cold war for use in hydrogen bombs but those historic stock piles have well and truly disappeared.
According to the Handbook of Lithium and Natural Calcium, "Lithium is a comparatively rare element, although it is found in many rocks and some brines, but always in very low concentrations. There are a fairly large number of both lithium mineral and brine deposits, but few of them are of actual or potential commercial value. Many are very small, others are too low in grade." [Wikipedia].
Lithium is certainly the buzzword of the times so you need to do your due diligence but VUL is the only major discovery that you could make a case for being hyped. And that is largely due to recent (and challenged) reports alleging that those VUL deposits are in proximity to populated cities where citizens are fighting the mining as a consequence of previous irresponsible miners as well as the lithium being unstable, hydrothermal, and in quantities now being questioned. The Australian lithium plays such as PLS, LTR, CXO etc have much, much further to go in valuation as do the Argentinian brine deposits with clean and sustainable processing having been developed over the past few years. Canadian deposits are also a fairly safe bet IMO.
I am very bullish on the gold price but very aware that the substance behind that sentiment may not remain as resilient as lithium as gold is currently very dependent on market risk issues such as inflation.
BTW. I am hoping to become a holder of BRB today.
