I'm not sure if anyone else here has seen first hand what the long term heart effects of anthracyclines... it is both tragic and scary. I have a relative who was initially treated with anthracyclines as a 14yr and then had subsequent treatments upon two relapses of leukemia. While she survived the cancer, now in her 40's, her quality of life and health is very severely impacted as a result of poor heart function. Doctors have informed her that her heart function is now 40%-50% of what it should be as a direct result of heart damage caused by anthracyclines.
To state the obvious here, if Zantrene can successfully reduce the heart damage caused by anthracyclines treatments (for multiple cancers) the global positive health impact for patients will be immense.
