Knowing more about miners obviously did not help them accumulate a fortune in AZS shares below 0.35... Charts and price are the only place where ALL KNOWN INFORMATION is visible. You never get the news first, but you can see it in the charts when those who do position themselves. AZS is the only stock I get interested in fundamentals, because the chart target is so high I wanted to educate and compare with others if it's even possible at all. Otherwise I quit looking at fundamentals about 17 years ago. They are totally irrelevant. If they were, PE's wouldn't move by multiples of 10 all the time, same company, same prospects, same numbers, etc... News act as catalysts obviously, sometimes (see today) to the opposite effect of what would be logical. They are just catalysts for the chart to run it's course. Just look at NVDA, adding in market cap in 1 day more than all it's revenue COMBINED since 2002. Fundamentals certainly don't explain such madness. When it will trade at 50-70, likely as soon as 2025, it will likely be making more profits than in 2023. Yet, It will have lost 80-90% of it's value. Examples are countless. Look what happened during COVID, with the markets exploding as the world was getting shut down... And so on... Sure, talking heads will always find an explanation. It's easy to pick whatever news out there and making the rationale behind the move... Truth is, charts follow their path, fundamentals are irrelevant. Why otherwise would we have -10% today on a similar news that made a +33% a few days ago ??? Remember my post on the other thread. i'm happy I sold a 1.2. The chart was clear. I could have been wrong of course, chart is not a crystal ball, but I would have know exactly when I was wrong and would have buy back. Charts can be amazing. Even on stocks like AZS. I made 1400% on SAVA and I swear I sold at the very top (at the time) at 115. 4 hours before the stock had lost almost 40%. People were making fun of my target both when the stock was at sub 10 (impossible) and when the stock was at 110 (will go much higher). Charts can be amazing. Most of the companies I buy I have no idea what they sell. I don't even care. And the less I care, the better I do. But, charts are no crystal ball and they will NEVER offer certainty, something that is useless to pursue in the markets. They do provide a framework to make trades with a decent probability, and more importantly, a decent R/R, which is the n.1 rule in investing. I'm very picky on the risk reward, because I'm good at reading the charts. I probbaly get kicked out of 8 trades out of 10, either at no loss or at a 1-4% loss, depending on the vol of the stock, but my risk reward often exceed 1:15. Sometimes it can be 1:300. Only chart reading will give you the tools to trade this way. there's no way an F analyst is going to be able to manage it's risk the way a chart trader does it. To each their own.
