Just had another look at the Hemi plans and cross sections, and its way too early to be counting chickens (or tonnes) at Aquila and Brolga but the Argonaut Research number of around 2.8 Million ounces of gold piqued my interest enough to have a very rough look myself. And it highlights the point that depending on the "assumptions" that people use we are going to see quite different numbers.

I'm pretty conservative so just "modeled" from near surface (40m) down to 250m depth vertically, used only the known strike lengths demonstrated by current RC DD drilling and assumed 2 decent economic ore zones at Brolga and one zone at Aquila both dipping to the southwest although the anatomising and variable nature of these zones will vary and give different volumes.

Anyway - I came up with around:

♦ 7.6 million cu metres in the two polygon zones at Brolga (used a very conservative SG of 2.67) and applied an average grade of around 2.03g/T Au so got to 1.33 million ounces

♦ 6.5 million cu metres in one polygon zone at Aquila (used a very conservative SG of 2.67) and applied an average grade of around 1.84g/T Au so got to 1.03 million ounces

So for Hemi (Brolga + Aquila) a very approximate 2.36 million ounces of gold, and thats assuming that no more strike length will be added and that all mineralisation stops at 250m vertical depth so obviously the few deep intercepts that they do have will be upside that admittedly may have to carry grades high enough to justify underground mining or fairly high strip ratios. No met testing done yet and requires much more drilling, and obviously excludes the other prospects that already have their own resource numbers done by the company.

Not sure if you are a geo but based on your comments, seems like you are quite knowledgeable! In your opinion then, how deep can you go with open pit before going underground? This ore seems to be huge and would it not be possible to go open pit all the way rather than underground which targets narrower ore bodies?
