GROK will not counter bid for ORG... he only bid for the whole of AGL WITH Brookfield for 8b
It does also mean (if ORG bid is successful) that MCB will need to go looking for another equity investor should he decide to have another tilt at AGL, as @deardrphil mentioned, there is no way known ACCC would accept the creation of a monopolistic position occurring by the connection of ORG & AGL... even if there are many new (and well funded) opponents entering the market such as Iberdola, Shell, BP, Twiggy (Squadron Energy & FII), MCB (Grok) , Farquhar (SKIP), Copenhagen IP, Orsted PLUS others and then all the Australian (& Canadian) super funds that are happy to invest in assets which provide stable income via PPAs to energy retailers or consumers.
