Lucapa Diamond relies on yellow diamonds

Most recently, Lucia Diamond (WKN A0M6U8 / ASX LOM) focused on the Lulo mine in Angola. There a number of large diamonds were found. At the beginning of January, the diamond conveyor announced the discovery of a 116 carat gemstone. A total of 10 Lulo diamonds have fallen into the weight category of more than 100 carats.

So far, the company is not yet on their Australian property. But here, too, there are very interesting perspectives. In Western Australia Lucapa Diamond is looking for the coveted glitter stones. Lucapa Diamond's Brooking Diamond Project is located in a remote area more than 2,000 kilometers north of Perth in the West Kimberley region. The project is 80 percent Lucapa Diamond. The partner is the Leopold Diamond Company.

mid-January, the company announced that it had discovered a variety of macro and micro diamonds.Now more details become known. The gems were found in the area of the Little Spring Creek, which can be found in the center of the Brooking property.

Once the diamonds found there have been cleaned and evaluated, it is clear that this is a very exciting find. A total of 119 diamonds were extracted from 86.8 kilograms of rock in a single well. Many of them are white, but a fair number of the diamonds are yellow.

The find includes 7 macro diamonds and 112 micro diamonds. Micro-diamonds are usually called such stones, which have a size of up to 0.5 millimeters.Accordingly, macro diamonds must be at least more than 0.5 millimeters in size. The largest diamond discovered on Little Spring Creek comes to 1.0mm x 0.6mm x 0.5mm. No weight is given.

Just finding the yellow diamonds is very interesting.Around 50 kilometers from Brooking there is the currently closed Ellendale Mine. This mine was the largest source of yellow diamonds worldwide during production times. The current discovery in the neighborhood of Ellendale creates quite a bit of imagination. Maybe on Brooking lucrative amounts of coveted yellow diamonds can be found.

Information about this can be further investigations and drilling. These are planned on the 118 square kilometer area. There are a number of targets on Brooking that Lucapa Diamond's executives want to investigate. But first, they need patience. Because in the inhospitable region, the rainy season is currently making any form of exploration work impossible.Only after the end of this wet period can more soil samples be taken - not only in the area of Little Spring Creek.
