Discounting down to that level is a horrible way to transition to a new label or packaging. It does irreversible damage to brand and pricing power.
Once someone pays $1 for a tin, chances are they no longer want to pay $38 ever again and no longer view BUB as a premium product.
Much better to just destroy the inventory and wear the cost.
