This reminds me my kids kinder when the Kinder committee asked the teacher to show reciepts for expenditure (up until then she had been spending as she liked without accountability). She refused, she was dismissed.
That ended up being a bit of a S**t show for a while as legal got involved, but long term it worked out really well as I am sure it will here too.
