The very first week I traded I went in hard on some speculative share (I can't even remember what it was now) and crystalised a loss of about $7500 in a few days lol ...
I'd like to think getting hammered so early on and not quitting put me in good stead for how to be more careful with my money. If something feels too good to be true, it probably is. Pay attention to both the angel and devil on your shoulder, sometimes one can be louder than the other!
