Don't think it's bizarre at all. It could be announced this year. Could be announced this afternoon. Mathematically speaking we have about 4.5% of the year left to run, so the odds are against it happening or being announced this year simply because we're running out of time. Plus it could be a waste of good-will at this time of year anyway.
Frankly, assuming it's great news with minimum dollar amounts included I'd rather they hold off until the 2nd half of January to make more of an impact. I'm not convinced there will be contracted minimums in the impending deal anyway.
So the quarterlies will have to do the talking. I'd probably prefer that approach too tbh. Agreements and contracts are always nice, but it's kinda like pre-season training. It's great to be hitting the ball well in the nets, but it's runs on board that count (4C's being runs on the board in the case of this clumsy analogy).
