Yes, fields are frequently redeveloped .. some with huge rewards… as technology improves or operating or economic conditions change to justify the risk/reward. As a local example, near to Buffalo, the Skua Field was originally developed by BHPP in the 1990s, and subsequently abandoned. Skua 10 and 11 are newer current producing wells drilled in the more recent redevelopment of the field, tied back to the Montana facilities.
