PSI81 : Well expressed : I am optimistic, but also acutely aware of the things that might go wrong.... but I do not think gas cap is at all likely as the oil produced at Buffalo is very undersaturated in dissolved gas, suggesting that it does not have a gas cap. The original Buffalo development used gas-lift to lift the oil and produced water to surface, and the low gas availability (combined with increasing water% that needed to be lifted) was a contributing reason why that development was terminated whilst it was still capable of 4000 BOPD. This issue will be overcome in any new development by using electric submersible pumps (ESPs) to lift the oil and produced water.
