My read on this is that Accenture is getting the work but they don't have the people to do the work. Big consultancy firms are brilliant at the sales pitch and they would love chatting to businesses that want to go to cloud but have no idea how to do it. So Accenture walk in and wow them with some BS and get the deal done..... lots of back slaps are done afterwards and then they look around the room and go..... hhhhhmmm so anyone know how this cloud stuff actually works? No???? ok....... who can we get to do this for us?
Yes it's good for Bulletproof to have this stream of income but it also shows their sales team have been unable to execute their plan and that is disappointing.
I believe Bulletproof should be competing against Accenture for this type of work, not getting into bed with them! Because at the end of the day all this really does is put margin on top of margin, costing the client more for the work that Bulletproof doesI'd also hope they put some clauses in the contract around staff and IP retention (not that I know how to do this) as a risk in this type of arrangement is that valuable IP that Bulletproof has developed over the past 4-5 years gets eroded through the various project collaborations and when staff are lured over to go work directly for Accenture.
