The grades being reported for the drill intercepts are robust and at commercial levels for ROM. Where the lithology is noted as pegmatite and there wasn't other modifying factors like highly weathered or the rock chip sample also involving Mafic, the average reported grade is 1.4% and grades up to 3% have been reported. That is a commercial grade and above the grade of several existing projects in Australia. I don't know where you get the impression the lithium content of the rock is not of a commercial grade. Can you please clarify this.
The thickness of pegmatites has varied between very thin and >20m. Equally importantly however is that there are trivial (<5%) instances so far of pegmatites with mineralisation below 0.4% meaning all the whiter pegmatite is basically mineralised. All the blacker mafic is waste. This would appear to be an optimal situation for ore sorter pre-concentration of thin seams and the edges of thicker seam deposts. If an Ore sorter designed to separate by colour were to have the pegmatite/mafic mix from mining an entire thin seam presented (or the mix from commencing mining a thicker seam), it would appear likely that it would separate out the lighter colour material successfully. TG6 is undertaking ore sorter work but the results are yet to be reported.
If an ore sorter was introduced into a flow sheet where there was a lot of non-mineralised pegmatite rock there would obviously be issues and many projects would have this scenario of non-mineralised pegmatites and would therefore have dismissed optical concentration options. At the moment, TG6 has robust mineralisation of >95% of the pegmatites intersected in drilling. It would appear an ore sorter could resolve the "thin seams" concern without crashing grades.
What part of this do you disagree with?
