I worked in ironmaking and the research. Blast furnaces will be the major ironmaking process for many years yet.
There's other processes claiming other forms of carbon can be used in the ironmaking process but I very much think not.
Why is coke used in blast furnaces known as metallurgical? It has strength!!!!
