Woodside Energy Reports Record 1st Half Net Profit

• Woodside reported a net profit of US$1.74 billion for the six months through June, up from US$1.64 billion a year ago. On an underlying basis, which helps to determine dividend payouts, Woodside said its profit totaled US$1.896 billion.
• Negotiations between union officials and Woodside to resolve the dispute are due to take place on Wednesday. Offshore Alliance says a strike could occur as soon as Sept. 2.
