I hope that Bartholomew Roberts is in the business of setting up restaurants and handballing them off a year later to the highest bidder. This could be a very profitable excercise in the short term without the long term risks which we are worried about. If they do decide to become a RFG type company then I have severe reservations. I've known people to start businesses, bring them to profitability and sell them off for a song while the new owner drives it into the ground shortly after. If this happens to every food company they sell I won't care. As long as it's not me holding the bag.
If this is the path they take it can be a very lucrative side business (if the timing is right). In the meantime Bartholomew Roberts cannot inform us or the market that they are looking to sell, because then no one will want to buy.
