The supposedly independent directors are now mere puppets of a minority shareholder who not so long ago wanted to get rid of them. They are more concerned with holding onto their jobs than acting in the interests of all shareholders. At least LM has some skin in the game.
We need competent independent directors with relevant experience and a commitment to driving improved shareholder returns.
