I don't know BOB, maybe The Motley Fool benefited.??????
For those of you who are old enough to remember Rene Rivkin, he used to invest in stocks before he recommended them, he had such a following that he could move markets in the day.
Ever read of footy players that bet against themselves via a friend? we only hear about the ones that get caught, how many don't?
Who are the beneficiaries? friends and families, the ones that are in the know.
How many times have you heard " I know the director" or my mate lives next door to such and such.
Who knows and who can tell who buys shares on behalf of who?
If it's a director then he/ she has to disclose their position, but what is stopping them giving someone a heads up ? good or bad? and then getting some sort of benefit somehow?

MY answer is Bob, I don't know who the beneficiaries of a pump and dump, but I do wish it was me.
