I think plenty of people have known that the field was declining. They didn't just find out about it last night and tell us today. Plenty of information would have been suggesting this for months. The rhetoric from management is that they didn't have enough information to quantify the impact with enough confidence to inform the market... hence they have said nothing... until today.
