Never sell on an ann? Do you also believe one 'should never buy on an announcement'? When the facts change you have to consider what has eventuated and base yr decision on the latest available evidence. You can choose to ignore what you have just read/learnt from fresh news... but don't think for a moment that Mr Mkt won't react to the news/announcement/facts.
Feel for shareholders. I went through similar a few days ago with VOC when SP blew-up on AGM announcement.
