I don't short stocks... so I am going on hearsay. I have been reading the MSB thread where it has been reported that 18% is the fee currently being charged to borrow that stock [coming from a poster called ecoool2]. I am aware the usual sort of fee is going to be around 3% for highly liquid large caps... but I understand that the fee can vary widely depending on the availability and can range as high as 30%.

The sudden jump in shorts for PET corresponds with the date for the 'strategic sale'... the relevant announcement states PET was "approached"... I am joining dots here, granted. I admit 18% is a guess on my part...but I doubt 3% will be the correct number.
