I think there is a need for weeding. Issues with revenue recognition cannot happen without a culture which is plagued by inefficiency and behaviour that is ethically questionable. A CFO or Finance team cannot recognise revenue until the invoice is raised and product physically move away (whether delivered or not) and sales staff supporting customers with incentives to sell products in the next financial year. There needs to be lots of weeding across the organisation starting from CEO, CFO, Heads of Operations and Sales just to get started.
