After watching how byron energy has operated sm71 from the beginning till now i find it strange that few if any have commented on the fact that f2 was never designed as b65 production well.
It was a great save by byron of a failed d5 well and by now has probably paid for itself with its current production. The production from b65 is quite good considering it is only just in the very top of the target and has shown that if penetrated correctly is more than capable of producing 1500bpd.
The other good thing about the failure of this d5 well is that it contributed to a better produing d5 well in f3. So byron now has invested in more detailed sismic to uncover the true potential of this seemingly oil prolific sm71 and surrounding areas. It will be interesting so see what they announce in the not too distant future.
