Hi Stakes84. Bit of a twisted thread to find but so far: A company named ORH Group(ORH) has aquired another small cap ResCo Services which is a mining resource maintenence co, and its relative Springsure Mining (together titled ResCo Group.)
Head office to be in Newcastle. ResCo Group will comprise 6 divisions incl engineering, support services, training, fleet maintenence etc. Springsure has applied for an exploration licence for thermal coal in the Bowen Basin and will have an interest in the development of a "Coal Mining Centre of Excellence", with an emphasis on training and the development of qualified coal miners for the ResCo Group workforce. ResCo clients apparently include Rio Tinto, Anglo Group, and Xstrata. Another one of ORH Groups intentions appear to be merging similar businesses. "Merge similar businesses to provide a national service and achieve operational efficiencies."
ORH if all goes well will be renamed ResCo Limited.
How this relects on Guildford Coal is debatable- perhaps ORH and therefore Springsure are looking to buy one of their sites for this training and development initiative.
I have found this info on the ASX site asxpdf/20100209 so have a look at it yourself and see if you can read anything between the lines. Might be easier to wait for an announcement. Good luck
