To be serious for a moment I think this is what has happened. The company has issued over time 4 tranches of loan funded shares (at various strike prices) to its employees. These total 2829986 shares at an average strike price of $0.114. [My assumption is that] the vesting period is about to expire and thus no employee in their right mind would want to convert as the SP is nowhere near $0.114. The company has fixed the situation by a cancellation of the shares through a 'virtual' share buy back.

In other words there is nothing indicative, either positive or negative, of the SP fortunes going forward.
