the option rules as per the 19/12/2018 4B states the employee must be continuously employed for 2 years (given its been 2 years from issue doesn't seem likely its someone who has been there since 2018 otherwise you would find the money to cash in I assume) and refers to employee option scheme as detailed in 2010 (I not going back that far to look). Seems strange. Either they had set aside the amount thinking they needed them for extra employees that they never hired and hence have cancelled them as there is no way someone could vest them in time to be applicable. My thought also its nothing to see but as I said previously, why wouldn't you simply write a 2 line explanation......
