The timing of this announcement is also interesting. I'm assuming management would have seen the SP jump last week and then waited a few days to see if the trend continued. The trend didn't continue and the SP has traded sideways since.
The possible perception is that BRN management don't think the SP is likely to trade any higher in the short term than $5.5.
This ANN likely puts somewhat of a cap on the SP, as management wouldn't be selling themselves short of cash if the SP was likely to push higher.
