This is a very silly discussion, anyone who knows anything about general business/manufacture etc knows that the first unit of anything produced will cost in the millions as it will account for all the R&D that is required to reach production. If you use the mobile phone analogy the first model will cost in the many millions to develop as mass production will only cost approx 60c-$1 per unit. This applies to whatever market you are in. This is just common sense, to suggest that implants have cost AVR $2M each demonstrates sheer ignorance.
