Strikes me as a bit premature to be raising capital to enter the Australian market. No legislation has been passed yet, and not sure if there are even any Bills before parliament (definitely not Federal but maybe Victoria - happy to be educated on this) so not sure what Piper Alderman are suppose to be advising them on at this time? You would think management could start developing strategy without needing funds at this time.
I guess my thinking is why not wait 2-3 months if they are expecting good news from Canada Duncan Facility and the sale of Satipharm CBD during that time and then capital raise after the share price has risen on those announcements.
Still I guess it's a good signal to the market that they will be actively pursuing Australian operations and will probably see a shareprice spike. I just find the timing of it slightly curious. Maybe they figure being seen as a first mover is basis enough to raise now even if it is jumping the gun a bit.
