Is it really true Mitcham that you have been writing on the SAS threads all this time and now you are telling us that you need to be told what the point of difference is going to be? For goodness sake, why didn't you tell us you had no idea what you've been talking about?

For starters, Iridium's first call was made by Al Gore. Big mistake. These Israeli guys don't make 'chummy' errors like that; they are too professional.

Second, there's been a great deal of scientific, technical improvements developed since 1998. If SAS was still using the same technology now as Iridium in 1998 I probably wouldn't be investing either, but I suspect they've moved forward.

Possibly the satellites are now down to a 'nano' size, probably a bit cheaper; that would be a point of difference wouldn't you think.

Another difference might be that SAS has tested the operations of their sats and found that with just 3 they can make some pretty amazing calls, transactions etc. So what do you think eh? They haven't needed to use the 'entire constellation' like Iridium did, so perhaps SAS can go ahead with less than 'a massive initial capital cost running into billions'.

I also wonder whether some of the time the SAS boys spent in Africa might have been time spent 'gaining subscribers'? It's possible it wasn't all a boys weekend holiday like we all thought, but was a bit of leg-work drumming up companies that would be willing to sign contracts to use SAS for their specific modern $1 Smartphones.

What do you reckon Mitcham? I hope this has helped you see there might be a few points of difference, and that maybe the SAS innovators have learned a few things from the Iridium mistakes in order to avoid bankruptcy.
