Sorry i don't agree, for example when OZL was taken over by BHP i ended up with a capital gain so i bit the bullet and walked a few dogs (that i was hoping would come good) down to the back paddock and got rid of them.I had to have sold and settled by 30th June.The capital loss is taken is taken off the capital gain dollar for dollar regardless of how long i had held OZL,whilst they could be sold at any time during the financial year most people only focus when 30th of June is looming thats why it appears as a stampede in the last couple of weeks.
