They also conveniently forget where petrol comes from, and that it takes more electricity to refine petrol than it would to just run an electric car for the same distance.

While I don't like terms like "big oil", but there is an awful lot of money tied up in ICE cars and it only takes a little bit of propaganda to keep all that money flowing.

Currently electric cars are significantly better for the environment than ICE cars, but there is still room for improvement.
